Sterbenz Farms
Sterbenz Farms is nestled in the heart of the Flint
Hills and is part of the Tall Grass Prairie. We comprise of
200 acres of beautiful prairie and a small amount of lowland through
which Bemis Creek flows, a major tributary of Lake Eldorado. The
soil is fertile loam that is excellent for grape production. The
nearness of the lake helps moderate the micro climate on the
farm. The farm produces some of the finest wine grapes in
Kansas. Grapes are available for picking, depending on variety
from July to mid September. Crushing and Destemming are available on
site for processing juice.
Vinland de la Cairns
Vinland de la Cairns is located southwest of Topeka near
the town of Dover on the eastern edge of the Flint Hills. Our
first plantings were in 1992 and now we have 22 varieties of grapes on
2 1/2 acres ranging from the old standby Concord, to seedless table
grapes, and some true wine grapes like Cabernet, Pinot Noir, and Merlot.
The vineyard is located at 13147 SW 33, Topeka, KS 66614, Phone
785-256-6225.
